2 Full Weeks Down

Business is doing fairly well so far. I'm not quite as busy as I'd like to be, but at least my net profit isn't negative. I've got 2 computers in here that I'm working on right now. I went to the Rotary club today to promote the business to them. Tomorrow I'm going to hit up some of the shops down town and hand out some fliers. Do some of that good old "Agent on the Street" stuff that isn't allowed in certain other places.

Last week it got really cold out here. I think the coldest my little thermometer on my window said was -20. It could have been colder, but it doesn't go any lower than that. Friday night the pipes in our mudroom froze. The water filter is in the mudroom, so we didn't have any water coming in. We had the plumber come out, thaw the pipes, and turn on the heater in the mud room. The funny part was, when I called him, he asked where I lived. After giving him the address, he asked what place it was. I told him who used to live there, and he said something like "Oh, I bet you do have frozen pipes." Our shower still hasn't drained since that night. I've been bailing my shower water out every night, so I can shower again the next morning. I leave it till the evening hoping that it just might warm up enough to drain on it's own.

Even with the extreme cold, I really do like it out here. Yesterday morning on my way to work, I noticed that the sunrise was casting a really pretty pink to purple light on the mountains that are to the west. It was hard to even keep my eyes on the road with that just out my window.

I have been finding new ways to get my geek on out here. I've been playing World of Darkness (which is very similar to Dungeons and Dragons) with my friends in the Twin Cities using a series of web cams. It's not quite as good as actually being there, but it's the next best thing. This probably makes me the geekiest person in the state of Wyoming.
