In late August I am going to the Penny-Arcade Expo. One of the events during the expo is the Omegathon. Basically they choose 20 random people (out of the 30,000 attending) to participate. These 20 Omeganoughts compete in 6 rounds of different games eliminating players as they go. The last round is always something way out of left field (pong, tetris) and the two compete in front of a huge crowd. The winner is going to get a trip for two to the Tokyo Game Show along with five thousand dollars spending money.
The reason I'm telling you about all this, is because I was chosen as an Omeganought. I got the call from Gabe of Penny-Arcade yesterday afternoon. I'm going to have to start doing some serious training in preparation. Wish me luck.
