I hit up my 10 year high school reunion over the weekend. It was fun, but very very surreal. We drove into Pierre on hwy 14, which allows you to come over a hill and really see all of the town at once. I was a overtaken by a wash of memories when we came over that hill. I think it was the most powerful moment of the weekend.
Friday night we had a social at one of the local bars. It was a really small bar, and we had a lot of people in there. Sarah and I ended up sitting at a table outside with some other classmates trying to figure out who was who. Eventually my old crew showed up, and we hung out with them for the rest of the evening.
One of the things we did Saturday was tour the high school. The thing is completely different than when I went there. Basically they kept the theater and the gymnasium and rebuilt a new school around those. It was very weird. I think I like the new school better tho.
We also went to a reception/dinner that evening. It was fun to see how people have changed over the years. Some people didn't change, some got chunkier, and a few got thinner. I was kind of glad to see that the people I thought would end up successful did.
We did get to spend a lot of time with the old crew. Or at least, those who showed up. That definitely made it worth the trip. I'm hoping we don't wait another 10 years to get our group together again.
I started the new job today. I'll post more about that after I've had another day of work.

how many people did you graduate with?
My graduating class was 202. So not really huge, but good sized.
