Big Brother Really IS Watching.

I went to the school today to get all the paper worked filled out for starting the new job. One of the things I had to do was get some fingerprints taken. This is because the job involves working with and around minors.

So, I went down to the Law Enforcement Center. I went into the main office area, and told them that I needed fingerprints taken, and showed them the paperwork. The lady there had me fill out some more paperwork then sent me to another room for the actual fingerprinting. Before she sent me, she called, and verified that someone would be there.

I arrived at the room that was specified. There was nobody there. The room had a few chairs in it, a service window, and another door going into another room. There was also a phone on the wall. The blinds behind the service window were closed, and there was a little sign that had a number to call for assistance. I didn't worry about calling because, hey, the lady in the other room called already. I sat in one of the chairs. One of the things I noticed while I was sitting there was how barren the room was. The only things on the walls were the telephone, and a no smoking sign.

I sat there for about five minutes. I started to wonder if maybe I wasn't in the right place. So I got up and looked up and down the hall, but I didn't see anybody. I went back in the room and started to read a sign on the window that had the hours they were open on it, when the phone rang.

I looked at the phone, and wondered if I should answer it. I mean, I could have been the completely wrong room. I finally decided to answer. A female voice on the phone asked "Are you here for fingerprinting?" I replied that I was, and she told me to take a seat, and someone would be with me shortly. I sat back down, and thought to myself that this felt very much like a British dystopian future movie. After several more minutes one of the deputies came in and took me in the other room to fingerprint me.

i think my brain would have blown a gasket. i'd be expecting a voice on the other end of the phone to say "do you want to know what the matrix is?"

OMG yes!
